USA's Only Fluorspar Mine Is Now Commissioning

Ares Strategic Mining is days away from becoming the United States' first domestic producer of fluorspar in decades, restoring an entire critical mineral industry to the country.

Why Fluorspar?

Two grades and two booming markets

Metallurgical grade (60-96% CaF₂) is used mainly as a smelting flux in steel and aluminum production, while acid grade (+97% CaF₂) is refined for high-tech industries like batteries, semiconductors and nuclear energy.

Supply is strained, and demand is set to increase drastically

North America is currently 100% reliant on imports of fluorspar. Fluorspar demand is expected to outpace global economic growth over the next decade by an estimated 40 - 70%.

The USA is the largest importer of fluorspar, and fluorspar products in the world, however the USA does not currently produce any fluorspar. Global demand is forecast to grow exponentially.

China is the most dominant player in the fluorspar industry, owning  around 75% of the world's fluorspar market share. However, China's resources are effectively depleted, and they are now a net importer.

Excluding China, fluorspar producing countries include Mexico, Vietnam, South Africa, Mongolia with potential new sources including Pakistan and Canada.

About ARES

Operational fluorspar mine

The Lost Sheep Mine is a new, fully permitted and fully operational fluorspar mine in Western Utah. Our NI 43-101 Technical Report confirms high-grade fluorspar mineralization.
 

Stockpiled fluorspar ore

Around 12,000 tons of fluorspar ore have already been excavated and are stockpiled on site, ready to process.

Lumps plant built and currently commissioning

The first of its kind on US soil, this metallurgical lumps plant will produce industry-ready fluorspar "lumps" or briquettes for use in steel manufacturing and other industries.
 

Flotation plant currently under construction

Also the first of its kind on US soil, the fluorspar flotation plant will produce acidspar - a high-purity fluorspar product of 97%+ CaF - for use in EV's, semiconductors, nuclear energy and electronic devices. 
 

Significant offtake agreements already in place.

Offtake agreements are in place with multiple buyers, the most significant being a $168m contract (with an upper contract limit of $250m) with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), awarded through the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA).

Additional mine expansion sites 

The Lost Sheep Mine is one of 302 claims along the Spor Mountain Range that ARES have 100% ownership of. 

Additional critical minerals found

Two additional critical mineral deposits have been found at the Lost Sheep Mine - Gallium and Germanium - creating further exploration and mining opportunities.

An experienced team 

Approximately 20-30 team members actively service the mine site and mill site in Delta, Utah. The company is led by Mr. James Walker, CEO of both ARES Strategic Mining and Nano Nuclear Energy. The mine manager is Mr. Roy Durr, of Provo Mining. 

The Lost Sheep Mine

The Lost Sheep Mine is Ares' flagship project in Utah's Spor Mountain district. Fully permitted and now at its main orebody, the mine has high-grade fluorspar stockpiled at the surface, ready to be trucked to the processing plant.

The Lumps Plant

The Lumps Plant is the first of two plants that will process the fluorspar ore we are actively mining.

 

It is now undergoing commissioning and due to commence ramp-up production on August 15th, 2026.

The Flotation Plant

The Flotation Plant will produce high-grade purity acidspar. The plant is purchased and on-site, adjacent to the Lumps plant in Delta, Utah. It is currently on an acceleration construction program.

What makes ARES a good investment?

EARLY STAGE
Production is weeks away, so there's still time to invest early, while the share price is relatively low.

LOW RISK

The Lost Sheep Mine project has already achieved 90% of its mapped milestones and production is imminent. A ramp-up production date has been set for August 15th, 2026.

HIGH UPSIDE​

The Lost Sheep Mine is projecting c.50-60K tons of fluorspar to be mined annually, and processed through two product lines (metspar and acidspar). Further mine expansion sites along the Spor Mountain Range are accessible. With both plants operational, capacity could be in the region of 150K tons per annum.

GOVERNMENT BACKED

Both US Federal and State governments have issued financing for the Lost Sheep Mine project. We have also recently been awarded a minimum $169m value contract with the DOD with an upper contract limit of $250m.
